The Targeting Playbook
The weekly 15-minute routine that keeps a workspace sharp, and the diagnosis table for when something is off.
Workspaces drift. Markets change vocabulary, a keyword quietly dies, an agent's angle stops mattering. The difference between workspaces that compound and workspaces that decay is a short, boring, weekly routine. Here is the one we recommend.
The weekly 15 minutes
| Minutes | Do |
|---|---|
| 3 | Open Insights. Read the funnel: where is the biggest leak, and did it move since last week? |
| 4 | Work Recommended actions top to bottom. Cut the dead keywords it names; they have receipts. |
| 3 | Expand your worst agent's keyword panel. Apply or reject the prepared replacements. |
| 3 | Skim the filtered-out shelf and your rejection pattern. Restore anything good, and note which reason dominates. |
| 2 | Ask the Analyst one question you actually care about this week, and act on the answer. |
Diagnosis: work the funnel top-down
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Scanned high, matches low | Keywords off-topic or too narrow | Rewrite toward customer language; loosen post-age filters |
| Matches high, leads low | Topic right, intent thin | Sharpen intent types; add negative keywords for the adjacent noise |
| Leads high, outreach low | The bottleneck is review time | Raise your daily grading habit, or move a proven campaign to Autopilot |
| Outreach high, replies low | The message, not the targeting | Rework the campaign's voice and use Hear it first; check the connection accept rate before volume |
| Everything low | The market is quieter than assumed on these platforms | Check channel health; consider a different angle or platform mix |
Questions the Analyst answers well
- "Which keywords should I cut, and what should replace them?"
- "Why did my leads change this week?"
- "Which agent is performing best, and why?"
- "How do I get more high-intent matches?"
- "What are my most common rejection reasons, and what should I change?"
Note
The routine works because every step ends in an action, not a chart. If a week's review produces no change at all, that is the system telling you it is tuned; enjoy it, and spend the 15 minutes on your replies instead.
