Reddit Leads

Strangers asking strangers what to buy. Reddit leads are anonymous but high-intent, and the reply etiquette is its own skill.

Reddit is where people ask for recommendations with their guard down, precisely because nobody is selling to them there, which is also why reaching out on Reddit demands more care than any other channel. A Reddit lead arrives as u/username with the community they posted in, the full post rendered as it appears on Reddit, its upvotes and comments, and the buying signal that earned the grade.

What you know, and what you don't

Reddit leads are pseudonymous: no name, company or title. What you do know is often more valuable: their exact problem, in their own words, posted recently, in a community that tells you the context. The signal tab shows the handle, community, post age and engagement; the discovery section shows which agent and keyword caught it.

Reaching out

  • Comment in the thread(usually right): answer the question in public, be genuinely useful, and let your product appear only as part of an honest answer. Your drafted comment names the product only when someone asks for recommendations and the community allows it, and how it names it follows the campaign's goal. Helpful first is the rule for a reason.
  • DM: better for specifics you would not post publicly. Answers land back in Engage, like every other channel.

Sends go out from your connected Reddit account, inside its weekly allowance and spread across the days so the pattern looks human. A comment Reddit's spam filter removes counts as a problem: the account moves back a stage and pauses. A moderator's removal never counts. See Sending Limits & Account Safety.

Community etiquette, briefly

  • Read the room: some communities welcome recommendations, others ban them. The post itself usually tells you which conversation you are walking into.
  • Disclose naturally when the product is yours; Reddit rewards honesty and is merciless about astroturfing.
  • Answer the actual question first. The reply that helps gets upvoted, and the upvoted reply gets seen.
Note
You can block a user or an entire community from any Reddit lead's ⋯ menu, and your agents will not bring you leads from them again.
