Sending Limits & Account Safety

Every account you connect climbs the same warm-up ladder on LinkedIn, Reddit and X. It starts small, rises only after clean weeks, and LeadPinger never sends past it, however many leads it finds.

Outreach automation is only worth having if your accounts survive it. So every account you connect, on LinkedIn, Reddit or X, climbs one warm-up ladder: a small allowance to start, a little more after each clean week, and a stage back the moment something goes wrong. The ladder is the same on all three platforms, and each connected account climbs its own.

Where it lives

Everything is in Settings, under Channels: a table with one row per platform (LinkedIn, Reddit and X, with Facebook coming soon), and Stop all sending at the top right. A row that is not connected has one button, Connect. A connected row shows its status, its warm-up stage and what it sent this week; click it, or Manage, to open the account's own page, which is the same on every platform:

  • Every account action at the top: Pause sending and Resume sending, instant on every platform, Reconnect when the platform asks for a new sign-in, and the ⋯ menu with Reconnect account and Disconnect account.
  • This week: for each kind of action, what the ladder allows, your limit, what went out this week, and today's count.
  • Account Warm-up Ladder: every stage's weekly volume, where the account stands, and the earliest date each stage ahead can start.
  • Sending hours: when automated sends may go out.
  • Safety Check: the verdict from when the account connected.
  • History: weeks moved on or back, pauses and problems, newest first.

Account pages are personal: everyone connects their own accounts, sending always goes out as the person who connected, and nobody sends as anyone else.

Kinds of action

KindWhat it isWhere
CommentA public comment on someone's post. On X, a reply to a post is a comment.LinkedIn, Reddit, X

Connection requestAn invitation to connect, with a note.LinkedIn

Comments, DMs and connection requests are first touches: each one reaches someone new, so they climb the ladder. Replies continue a conversation the other person chose to have, so they have their own daily number, below. Reddit has no connections, and LeadPinger does not follow people on X.

The warm-up ladder

Every account starts at stage 1, including accounts connected before the ladder existed. The numbers are per week, and a week is the last 7 days, rolling, not a calendar week: each send frees up again when it turns 7 days old.

Per weekStage 1Stage 2Stage 3Stage 4Stage 5Unlocked
Comments34567up to 14
DMs34567up to 14
Connection requests (LinkedIn)1525355070up to 100

Spread across the days

A kind never sends more than a fifth of its week in one day, rounded up: 3 to 5 a week means at most 1 a day, 6 or 7 means 2, 15 connection requests means 3, 70 means 14, and 100 means 20. The Todaycolumn on the account page shows what went out today against that share, and the count resets at midnight on the account's own clock. On X, your plan also sets a daily ceiling, lower on Starter; whichever number is smaller applies.

Moving on

An account moves on to the next stage after a clean week: at least 2 first touches in the last 7 days, and no problems since it reached its current stage. Accounts the Safety Check rated Starts slow move on every two clean weeks instead. LeadPinger checks every day, and the Account Warm-up Ladder card shows how many days into its stage the account is, and the earliest date each stage ahead can start.

An account that goes 14 days without a first touch moves back a stage, never below stage 1. A quiet account that suddenly starts sending is a pattern platforms notice, so it earns its way back up.

Unlocked

After stage 5 the account is Unlocked, and you choose its weekly numbers yourself, under Your weekly numbers on the Account Warm-up Ladder card: up to 14 comments, 14 DMs and 100 connection requests. The allowance walks toward your numbers a little each clean week (one more comment or DM, ten more connection requests), so the account never jumps.

When something goes wrong

Each of these counts as a problem:

  • A comment removed by the platform's spam system (Reddit), or hidden from the public.
  • Someone calling a comment a bot or an ad.
  • The platform asking the account to slow down.
  • Most of the account's LinkedIn connection requests being ignored.
  • A restriction or a suspension.
WhenWhat happens
The first problemThe account moves back a stage and pauses for 72 hours, then resumes by itself.
A second problem within 30 daysThe account goes back to stage 1 and stays paused until you resume it.
A restriction or suspensionThe account stops at stage 1 until you resume it. Check the account on the platform first.

LeadPinger tells you each time, and the account page says what happened and, for a timed pause, when it resumes. You can resume a pause early; the app asks you to confirm first, because the cooldown is there to protect the account.

Note
Moderator removals on Reddit never count. A subreddit's rule is not a verdict on your account.

Your limit

The ladder sets the most an account may send, and you can always send less. In This week, each kind has a Your limitfield: lower it at any time, or set it to 0 to switch that kind off, and it applies at once. Leave it empty to use the whole allowance. Your limit never raises the ladder's number.

Every send counts

Every send made through LeadPinger counts, including the ones you click yourself: approving a draft, or sending from Engage or the lead page. The platform can't tell who clicked, so the ladder doesn't either. Copying a draft and posting it yourself outside LeadPinger never counts.

  • If this week's allowance is used, or you switched that kind off, a send you click is refused with the reason, and your text is kept so you can copy it.
  • If only today's share is used, the send is queued and goes out tomorrow by itself.

Replies

Replies are not on the ladder: each account can send up to 10 a day, comment threads and DMs together. Pause sending stops them too.

Sending hours

Each account has its own Sending hours: a time zone, a start and an end hour, and whether to include weekends. Automated sends go out only inside those hours; your own clicks send any time. The day's count resets at midnight on that clock. A newly connected account follows the workspace time zone from Settings, General until you save its own.

One allowance per account

The allowance belongs to the account, not to a campaign: every campaign sending from it shares one weekly number. One real account connected in two workspaces still has one allowance, because the platform sees one account. The dashboard's Sent this week card adds up your accounts on all three platforms.

The Safety Check

PlatformWhen it runsIf the verdict is Not yet
Reddit and XBefore sign-in, from the public profile. The connection is refused. It checks again every day and tells you the day the account qualifies.
LinkedInAs the account connects, from the account itself. It never blocks: you see the reasons and choose Connect anywayat the top of the account's page, or Disconnect account from its ⋯ menu. Nothing sends until you do.

An account rated Starts slow moves on every two clean weeks instead of every one; on LinkedIn, so does anything short of Ready. The details are in Reddit & X and LinkedIn Account Safety.

Pausing an account

Pause sending stops everything the account sends, instantly, on every platform: first touches, replies, and the messages you write yourself, which wait until you resume. Resume sendingpicks up where it left off. A paused account's row on Channels, and its page, say which kind of pause it is:

Kind of pauseWhat it means
Paused by youNothing sends until you resume it.
Paused to protect this accountA problem was detected. The reason is shown, with when it resumes by itself; after a second problem within 30 days, it waits for you.
StoppedA restriction or suspension. Check the account on the platform, then resume it; it starts again at stage 1.
Session endedThe platform ended the session. Click Reconnect at the top of the account's page to resume.
Waiting for youLinkedIn only: the Safety Check found reasons for caution. Choose Connect anyway or Disconnect accounton the account's page; nothing sends until you do.
Paused by LeadPinger supportReply to support to resume it.

The emergency stop

Stop all sending sits at the top right of Settings, Channels, with a confirmation first. While it is on, a red banner says so and the button reads Resume sending. It stops every send from every account in the workspace at once: no connection requests, DMs or comments, Autopilot included. Your agents keep finding leads and drafts keep queuing, so resuming picks up exactly where you left off. Admins only. Use it without hesitation: a false alarm costs nothing.

Platform-wide stops

If accounts start being restricted on one platform, LeadPinger can pause sending on that platform for every workspace while it looks into it. Your agents keep drafting, and you can still copy any draft and post it yourself. The account page says so for as long as the pause lasts.

Heads up
The honest part: platforms can restrict any account that automates, and automated tools violate LinkedIn's User Agreement. You use automation at your own risk, and LeadPinger cannot be responsible for restrictions that result. The ladder exists to keep that risk as small as it can be, which is why it starts small and only rises on evidence. The LinkedIn side of the story is in LinkedIn Account Safety.
